Switzerland, Day 1

Basel

Swiss, one of the countries that i loved the most so far. Love because of the friendly local people, clean environment and the last but not the least, THE NATURE of Switzerland !

I traveled from Paris to Basel, Switzerland by train. Nice and comfy seat and the journey took around 3 hours.

This is the tram in Basel, big space and comfy seat inside

After 3 hours of sleep, chat and eat, and finally i reached Basel Switzerland. We have 6 people traveling together, and since each of us had big luggage to carry along, so we decided to take taxi. As usual, we went to ask for price outside the train station. Wa, mana tau itu taxi driver like singa bukak mulut besar, offer us 60 swiss franc per taxi which is approx. RM 200.00. This is super expensive, cos my aunty said this is a small town and everything is so nearby. We negotiated with the taxi driver but the lowest offer he gave us was 50 swiss franc. In the end, we said no way, this is crazy. So my aunty and I went up further to search for another taxi.
Dang dang, while we were searching for another taxi, we saw a tourism information office next to Basel train station.

We went in and asked for information about Basel, the woman in the office is so kind. She gave us the map of Basel, and the most important thing she told us public transport in Basel is FREE. Wow, it's such a good news for us! Cos sometimes very mafan la to find coins if we take public transport. We more happy when she told us : you may cross the opposite road and wait in front of the bakery shop, take bus number 30. Your hotel location is the 3rd stop, named Spalentor. Buses in Basel is good, the step to step into the bus isnt high, so you won't feel hard to hold and carry 20kgs naik bus, and there's a space for you to put luggage :)

Guess what? From the Basel train station to our hotel, it needs only 5-8mins! Luckily tak kena chop tiok tiok tiok by the taxi driver. Hahahah :D

Basel is a small town, where the public transport is the tram and the bus (FOC, you don't have to pay). Although it's a small town, there is a Louis Vuitton boutique here. And many interesting shops as well such as Zara, Lacoste, Swarovski, United Colours of Benetton etc.

    The town of Basel

    Part of the shopping street

Hang out around the town, walk walk see see take photos..

Cute hor this bicycle, I'm not sure this is for display purpose or someone do really ride
    it

Walk along their bridge to the opposite land, do you notice something colorful?

Here... what is the colorful thing exactly about :)
The people there wrap it all along the bridge....

My personal experience, I didn't have a stable walk when i walked along this bridge, feel myself like going to pokkai on the street..  Maybe cause of the cars, buses across the bridge. And also the sound when the tram passing by, too loud. LOL :D

    View from opposite land

Took this little sampan across the river, back to the way i came from

Then, we continued with jalan-jalan, tengok-tengok..
End of Day One ! ^^
